Tis the season! ELPAC season that is. We began testing today, but I wanted to share with you some resources if you are opting to not test until later in the window.
For those of you who don't know ELPAC stands for English Language Proficiency Assessment for California. It is a state-mandated test designed to assess the English language proficiency of bilingual students in California. The writing portion of the test is an important aspect of this assessment as it measures students' ability to communicate in writing, an essential skill for academic and professional success. Practicing for the ELPAC writing portion is important because it helps students become familiar with the format and types of writing prompts they will encounter on the test, allowing them to develop their writing skills and increase their confidence. Please practice as it relieves a lot of anxiety and test-day nerves. Additionally, practicing for the ELPAC writing portion can provide students with the opportunity to receive constructive feedback on their writing, allowing them to improve and grow their writing skills.
